SIPS staff have once again showed their unflinching generosity through donations to Heart Care, a caring local voluntary organisation that provides vital know-how, support and practical assistance to individuals right across the Walsall region with heart or lung related illnesses in their vital rehabilitation programmes, promoting exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
Heart Care is an extremely caring charity, the hub of the community, based in Walsall, only 6 miles from SIPS’s West Bromwich Headquarters on Cronehills Linkway. The charity provides many services including weight management, gym sessions, physio and doctor consultations, all tailored to improve the lives of individuals overcoming illness and beyond. Yet, as a small charity, they are reliant on donations to be able to maintain their life-changing services and so every penny really does count.
On the 7th July 2019 in the dazzling sunshine, SIPS’s Sally Woodvine from our Risk Management Team armed with good walking shoes joined many other people completing Heart Care’s annual 6-mile sponsored walk, through the scenic route tracing Aldridge’s Canals along the towpath to Park Lime Pits. SIPS’s community-driven workforce donated £112. We met with Rina Guddu, Community Fundraiser, who commented: “our sincere thanks go out to SIPS. Local people, supporting local causes, in their own community is so precious”. The money will be invested towards buying a new heart monitor, which wouldn’t be possible if it were not for people like Sally who are willing to raise funds for such a worthwhile charity.
Thank you again to all SIPS staff for their thoughtful and important donations. If you would like to find out more about Heart Care, or donate, please visit: https://www.heartcare.org.uk/ each £1 makes a valued and sustained difference to many lives…
