We continue to work with Sandwell schools to build and support their music offer. It is our goal
to encourage every school in Sandwell to work with us, so that there is an equity of opportunity
for children to learn a musical instrument during their time at school.

As part of our National Apprenticeships Week recognition, today we’d like to introduce you to Lucy, our Business Administration Level 3 apprentice.

” My time with SIPS so far has been filled with support and challenges. No day is the same. Some days I work with other departments, other times focusing on projects with my mentor. Starting out with my apprenticeship was a swift process, with regular progress meetings with both my mentor and apprenticeship assessor. My learning has been supported everyday since I have started by people around me who want me to succeed.

So far, the best skills I’ve learned are developing my soft skills. This includes my confidence, my organisational skills, and adaptability. This has mainly been developed by the internal team and culture in the office.

After my apprenticeship finishes, I will then have a qualification in Business Administration Level 3, which Is so useful in all organisations and roles. Having this qualification means I’m open to new pathways once I qualify or able to stay and progress with SIPS in this role.

Not only are you gaining a qualification, but you are gaining valuable work experience. You also develop yourself as a young person and meet so many new people who help you with your apprenticeship and develop a general sense community. After leaving school, it’s hard to decide what’s right for you after school, as everyone is going down a different pathway. But an apprenticeship is a great way to put your foot in the door with an organisation, earn, get qualified and gain skills.”
