Year 8 pupils took part in a career-focussed day, supporting the GCSE subject options they will be making. Part of the morning’s career activities involved pupils hearing from a range of employees who shared their experiences of education, training and employment.
The virtual aspect of the activity gave the opportunity to hear from speakers across the country and internationally – a speaker joining from Myanmar was able to tell pupils how her teaching qualification has enabled her to travel and work abroad. The interactive sessions invited questions from pupils.
“The Year 8 virtual careers event was, in my opinion, fantastic and I was really pleased with the smooth the running of the event. Sally had organised some amazing speakers to share their career journey with our pupils, who asked some good follow-up questions. Having live speakers makes the event more powerful and inspiring for pupils and I feel everyone will benefit from today.”
