We continue to work with Sandwell schools to build and support their music offer. It is our goal
to encourage every school in Sandwell to work with us, so that there is an equity of opportunity
for children to learn a musical instrument during their time at school.

SIPS celebrates Public Sector Catering Week – Careers in the sector

Today’s focus for Public Sector Catering Week is on careers in the hugely rewarding public sector; at SIPS, we’re incredibly proud to have the privilege of serving over 11,200 nutritious and delicious schools meals to hungry pupils every day – that’s over 2m dinners every year! We know the strength of our service lies in our people, which is why we have such a focus on their growth and development, and seek out talent in many different quarters.

We’re thrilled to be one of only a handful of organisations to appear on LACA’s (The School Food People) roll of honour earlier this year through our early adoption of their ‘Workforce Standards’; a nationally recognised, accredited CPD programme for our frontline Catering teams, providing a clear and supported path for both induction and career progression. Our partnership with Dudley College, formed in January this year to provide training, work and interview experience for individuals facing barriers to employment, is already bearing fruit and we’re delighted to have welcomed seven new colleagues from the initial pilot programme alone, to SIPS Catering.
