We’re delighted to introduce Sarah O’Boyle as the new non-executive Chair of SIPS Education.
Sarah has been Headteacher at Galton Valley Primary School in Smethwick since 2012 and has enjoyed an illustrious career in education spanning some 30 years. In addition, Sarah is also involved in school improvement work across Sandwell Local Authority and is passionate about supporting other leaders in strengthening their skills so that all pupils can achieve greater success. Sarah also supports governance in Sandwell as Chair of the STEPs Centre board for a number of years and in Birmingham as a parent governor at her daughter’s primary school.
Sarah is married to Charles, and they have a beautiful 10-year-old daughter. Family and Catholic faith are very important to Sarah, and she’s very proud of her Irish heritage and Dublin roots.
An avid reader and a strong advocate of Reading for Pleasure , Sarah is passionate that a love for reading improves life chances for children and young people.
Sarah joined the SIPS Board in 2019, and brings an abundance of passion, enthusiasm, and expertise. In stepping up to the role of Chair, her appointment supports strategic organisational continuity and membership advocacy across the region.
Sarah said “I am privileged to be Chair of SIPS Education after being a member of the board for a number of years. I have seen many improvements in the past 5 years, and I look forward to working more closely with Brian, Kim, and Laura, alongside the team of around 370 SIPS colleagues to ensure schools and educational settings benefit from high-quality services.”
